The Doctor

Stats for all ten Doctors with brief bios and adventures

Doctor 1

He is first seen in An Unearthly Child (the first episode of the story 100,000 BC).

His final story is The Tenth Planet. He becomes gradually weaker during the story and, after the Cybermen are defeated, he collapses in the TARDIS. His face gradually transforms into the Second Doctor.

Doctor 2

His first story is The Power of the Daleks. In The Tomb of the Cybermen he tells Victoria he is about 450 years old.

In his final story, The War Games, he is is exiled by the Time Lords because of his interference in the affairs of other races. They force him to regenerate and disable the TARDIS so he is no longer able to move in Time and Space, but is stuck on 20th century Earth.

Doctor 3

His first story is Spearhead from Space.

His final story is Planet of the Spiders where he suffers fatal radiation poisoning from the Great One's cave of crystals.

Doctor 4

His first story is Robot. In The Brain of Morbius he is said to be 749 years old. Romana 1 says he is 759 in The Ribos Operation, and had been piloting the TARDIS for 523 years, making him 236 when he first started flying it.

In his final story, Logopolis, he falls from the Pharos Project radio telescope after foiling the Master's plan.

Doctor 5

His first story is Castrovalva.

In his final story, The Caves of Androzani, both the Doctor and Peri contract the fatal disease Spectrox toxaemia. The only cure is the milk of the queen bat from the lower depths of the caves. The Doctor retrieves some of the antidote and both he and Peri manage to get back to the TARDIS. There is only enough of the antidote for her, as he dies he starts to regenerate.

Doctor 6

His first story is The Twin Dilemma, his final story is The Ultimate Foe. In Revelation of the Daleks the Doctor is 900 years old.

Doctor 7

His first story is Time and the Rani, his final story is Survival. In that first story the Doctor is the same age as the Rani - 953. In Remembrance of the Daleks he says that he's had "900 years’ experience" rewiring alien equipment.

Doctor 8

His only appearance is in Doctor Who: The Movie.

The Seventh Doctor makes a brief appearance at the beginning of the film. He is taking the Master's remains back to Gallifrey when the Master escapes and causes the TARDIS to crash in San Franciso on New Year's Eve 1999. The Doctor is accidently shot and regenerates in the hospital morgue.

Doctor 9

His first story is Rose, his final appearance is in The Parting of the Ways. His regeneration from the Eighth Doctor has not been shown.

In Aliens of London, he says, "Nine hundred years of time and space, and I've never been slapped by someone's mother." He tells Rose he is 900 years old, but possibly he is referring to the years he has been travelling in the TARDIS, rather than his physical age. In The Empty Child he speaks of 900 years of "phone box" travel which, if he began at 236, would make him 1,136 years old.

Doctor 10

His first story is The Christmas Invasion.

There have also been 3 multi-doctor stories

  • The Three Doctors - Doctors 1, 2 and 3
  • The Five Doctors - Doctors 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
  • The Two Doctors - Doctors 2 and 6
